Earthquake: Rs. 30 million have been spent from 8th October
2005 to date on relief efforts in the earthquake affected areas. Details of
which are:
•Sahara For Life Trust provided 3200 fiberglass huts to the far flung areas of
the earthquake affected areas.
•Sahara For life Trust with the help of Pakistan army used Helicopters from the
USA called “CHINOUKS” to transport the fiberglass huts as well as patients and
other relief goods to snowbound areas. Shelter homes were thus established in
even most difficult areas by SAHARA.
•Two medical camps with teams of surgeons, physicians, orthopedic surgeons and
gynecologists were established in “Balakot and Chanari”.
•90 trucks loaded with utilities like eatables, blankets, warm clothes and tents
were also transported and provided as a part of the relief efforts.
•As a part of the relief activities Sahara for Life Trust also established a
mosque by the name of Masjid-e-Qaba in Azad Kashmir
•A technical school to teach sewing/stitching to the girls of the affected area
in Kashmir has also been established. 10 Sewing machines and teaching
arrangements have also been made by the trust

Lebanon war affectees 2006: A 33 day military conflict between Israel and
Lebanon. The conflict killed over a thousand people, mostly Lebanese civilians,
severely damaged Lebanese civil infrastructure, and displaced approximately one
million Lebanese. Sahara was devastated at this loss of human life; immediately
the Lebanese health ministry was contacted and medicines and supplies worth
hundreds and thousands of rupees was extended to the Lebanese brethren.
Tsunami Victims of Indonesia 2006: Following an earthquake in July 2006
Indonesia was struck by a 3 meter high Tsunami; destroying millions of lives and
vast land and property. Attending this call of nature Sahara For Life Trust
wrote to the President of Indonesia and offered full support in the form of
humanitarian aid as well as medical support to the widely affected areas in
Java.
Gilgit floods: In year 2003 devastating floods in Gilgit disrupted the
smooth life of the population. Sahara For Life Trust conducted a mass media
campaign whereby funds were collected through live calls attended by the
Chairman Sahara For Life Trust. The funds were used to provide winter clothing,
blankets and food items to the affected population in and around Gilgit.
Nala Lai floods: In year 2001 an exhaustive campaign was carried out by
Sahara For Life Trust. Food packets and warm clothes were distributed amongst
the flood affectees. Free medical camps were set up by the experienced doctors
of Sughra Shafi Medical Complex and medical care with provision of free
medicines was provided.
Anti- pollution campaign conducted by Sahara For Life Trust in the year
2000 in Multan. A walk was conducted on the major roads of Multan, roadside
information camps were established and free masks were distributed amongst
public to stress the need of a pollution free environment.
